Minimum Educational Qualifications & Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill the NCTE and State Education Department prescribed qualifications (D.El.Ed / B.Ed / B.El.Ed) to apply for JTET:
Level-1 / Paper-I (Primary: Classes 1 to 5)
Primary Teacher (PRT) Qualifications
- Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed / BTC / D.Ed).
- OR 10+2 with at least 50% marks + 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- OR Graduation with at least 50% marks + 2-year D.El.Ed (passed or appearing in final year).
Level-2 / Paper-II (Upper Primary: Classes 6 to 8)
Upper Primary / Secondary Teacher Qualifications
- Graduation in relevant discipline + 2-year D.El.Ed or 2-year B.Ed (Bachelor of Education).
- OR Graduation with minimum 50% marks + 1-year / 2-year B.Ed / B.Ed (Special Education).
- OR 10+2 with at least 50% marks + 4-year integrated B.A./B.Sc.Ed or B.El.Ed.
Important: Age & Minimum Percentage Concessions: 5% relaxation in qualifying marks for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD candidates as per state government rules.
