A Government is the governing body that makes decisions, enforces laws, and organizes public services:
- Constructs infrastructure (roads, bridges, electricity, water supply).
- Provides public healthcare, education, and subsidized rations.
- Organizes disaster rescue and relief during earthquakes, floods, or tsunamis.
- Maintains peaceful foreign relations and protects national borders.
Three Levels of Government
- Local Level: Covers your village, town, or city neighborhood (Gram Panchayat, Municipal Corporation).
- State Level: Covers an entire state (e.g. Government of Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala).
- National Level: Governs the entire country (Government of India at New Delhi).
